Comments:   I am looking for descendants from the first marriage of my Great Grandfather, GEORGE HENRY GODFREY HOLLANDS. He was born in 1881 at Ashford, Kent to George Henry Orchard Hollands and Mary Ann Godfrey. He was Catholic, and went to a private school (public) in Kent as a boy. He fought in WWI as an ambulance driver. After WWI his contact with his family was very limited. We know he had a first marriage only because he is listed in marriage documents as being a divorcee, very unusual for a Catholic. He died in Sheffield in 1963. We are trying to find out if he has any descendants from his first marriage.

When I was researching my Huddlestons, I found some good information concerning my Huddlestons on a Holland page and now I can't find it again. I just wanted to repay the favor by supplying the survey report information on Robert Holland of Virginia. Survey Report 3973 which mentions much tobacco that imported into Virginia and the many people, boats and labor that had to do with that. Robert Holland imported all of his tobacco for the "Marmaduke"(boat) during the years 1627&1628(on the survey report it is dated Michaelmas 1627-Michaelmus 1628) The document has been edited and reproduced in full by Neville Williams in "The Virginia magazine of History and Biography LXV xc. (Oct. 1957).

Comments:   My Father's name is Sydney Hollands and his Father (James William Hollands) was born (we think) in the Kent, England area in 1876. Have you come across any information on this family? If so I would be grateful for anything you can give me. I loved your site and somehow felt a sort of kinship with other Hollands mentioned in your site and links.

Comments:   I think my G_grandfather was George Hollands, possible brother to William in your family tree. George lived & died in Hornell, NY. Our immediate family has lived in Rochester since about 1962 and my father Everett Baily Hollands was from Hornell or that area. There are or were a lot of Hollands's in the Hornell area for a long time, a good place to look for info on this lineage. Recently a Rachel Hollands was born in Queens, NYC last year in December 1996 and has the first name of Rachel Hollands in your family tree. My father & mother Hollands live in Livonia, NY. He may be able to firm up the connection between William & George Hollands.

Comments:   I don't know much about my Holland family tree. My fathers name is Charles Gordon Holland, my grandfather Ben Gordon Holland, and my great grandfather's name was Ben Harrison Holland. That's as far as I can go back on the Holland side. Maybe Ben Harrison Holland is familiar to you?
