Comments: I use the computers at the college where I work and don't have an address, I'm sorry. My grandfather was James Wiley Kimble who married Louise Newell, both of Wesson, MS. My great-grandfather was William Wiley Kimble who married Clara Anding and as far as I know, they were both from Hazlehurst, MS. This is the extent I know of my ancestry by name. Our farthest traceable ancestor was adopted, so our bloodline is not truly Kimble. However I am interested to know where our name came from and more about the adoptive parents and grandparents of my ancestors.

How did you hear of this site: Looking for Kimbles/Alta Vista

Comments: I am looking for the parents of Aaron (my g g g grandfather, b1803), Nathan (b1805), and Moses Kimble. They were born in New Jersey and emigrated to Ohio about 1815. They went through Pennsylvania, and might have stayed there for awhile. They eventually settled in Fayette County, Ohio, where Aaron and Nathan are listed in the 1830 census.

In 1832, Aaron moved on to Indiana and then Missouri, (with his family) where he died in 1845. Nathan stayed in Fayette County. It is possible that their father's name was William, and that he moved on to Cass County, Illinois in 1830. It is possible that there mother was Martha Gage? and it was reported by David Kimble, grandson of Aaron, that Martha was a neice of Martha Washington. If anyone has any info on this Kimble's, I would be so thrilled to hear it!

Thanks, and this site is a real labor of love!

Comments: I have not been able to locate many KEMBLE's.

I do know my GG grandfather was Aaron Stewart Kemble (1808-1886) and he married Martha Mitilda Leming(1814-1891). Their children Aaron Stewart II, Caroline, Issac(1843), Sarah(1849), George Ivans (1852), John R. Also Sarah Ann Burgess Kemble (1888-1960)??. I also know that my grandfather before he died changed his name to Kimble and so I am told did his father's brothers. I would love to talk to anyone of the same line or if you have any info. I have recently hit a brick wall with the Kemble line.

I do know that my early ancestors were from the Wales(Europe) area, then they migrated to the US. Most of them settled around Pennsylvania and Southern NJ.

Any info this might bring would be a great help. Also, You have a terrific web page. Thank you for sharing so much of your family history with us. I would like to do the same when mine is complete and accurate.

Thank you!
Shelby

I have found a connection for the Kimbles/Balls. Ephraim and Adelia Kimble's son, Robert, had a daughter Nellie (b. 1897). I believe this Nellie is Nellie Ray Kimble (b. 4/15/??; d. 10/1952) who married William Henry Ball. Nellie and William had a son, Ralph Burnett Ball who married Alice Losey. Alice Losey was my grand-aunt (my father's aunt). Talk about a small world!
