Comments: I am seeking the ancestry OR cousins of ALEXANDER SCOTT who was christened on April 3, 1778 at the First Presbertian Church, Phila PA and d Feb 14, 1849 in Gloucester Co NJ. He married Alice String on May 8, 1904 in Salem Co NJ.
It has been suggested that his parents MAY have been Samuel and Rachel Scott. Does anyone out there have any such people for that time frame? It is also suggested there may be a link between this Scott line and that of the Scott paper towel family. Any one know anything about that line?
Thanks, Susan

Comments: My family is originally from Gourdon/Stonehaven in the Northeast of Scotland. My grandfather, Andrew stayed in Scotland after the Great War, having served in the Navy. However many of his family emigrated to North America due to unemployment here. I am only sure of the name of one sister, Janet, though popular family names are William, Robert and John, so I'm sure some of the brothers would have these names. I am anxious to hear from anyone who thinks there may be a link: it would be particularly of interest to my father.
