John Kimble received what little education he had time to acquire in the public schools of Sussex County, New Jersey, and followed agricultural pursuits as a vocation the greater part of his life. His first wife, Lydia, died while living on one of Dr. Samuel Watkins' farms and is buried in Hector Cemetery (near Burdett, New York) with two of her childern, Eve and John Jr.. John's second wife, Martha, was from Bennettsburg, New York and had a brother named Jim Dunham who lived in Havana (later called Montour Falls, New York). She was the widow of Dr. Norman Trusdell of Reynoldsville, New York (near Burdett). Martha was the mother of three children by Dr. Trusdell...Mary, Marshall, and Martha. John came to Watkins Glen, New York from Pennsylvania around 1821. In 1844, he moved to Catlin where he was still living at ninty years of age, hale and hearty. John is buried in Moreland Cemetery (Schyler County).

After the deaths of Debbie's father and husband and her brother Peter's wife all in 1883, she and Peter went to visit
their cousins in Pennsylvania. When they came home, Peter had filled his diary full of family records. He
added them to others and compiled them in a hard covered book. {QUESTION...Where is it?} Deborah was
buried with her daughters on the Beardsley lot in Highland Cemetery (between Catherine and Odessa, New
York). They each have a grave marker near a tall monument with Mother Deborah, Daughter Ophelia, and
Daughter Emily inscribed on a side.
