The Family of William Kimble and Rachel Vaughan Kimble

Rachel Vaughan, daughter of Daniel Vaughan and Diana Watkins Vaughan:

William and Rachel had twelve children:

William and Rachel moved from Sussex County, New Jersey to Varna, New York (Thompkins County, near Ithaca). About ten years later they moved over near burdett and Watkins Glen, New York where they lived until their deaths.

Rachel's father lived in Knowlton, Sussex, Co. (now called Warren County, New Jersey). He had eleven children by his first wife, Diana, of which Rachel was one, and seven children by his second wife, Hannah Reed Vaughan. The only child listed of the second marriage is William Vaughan (born 1804)

There is little information on William and Rachel's children, but some of their Grandsons ran the "Odessa House". There is also a record of their Great Grandchildren (parents not known):

  1. Mary Kimble: of Burdett, New York, married a man by the last name of Hager

  2. John Kimble: married Lena Markle, lived in Rochester, New York and had a son, Jack Kimble who lived with them only when he traveled.

H. John , who went by his middle name, is listed in the 1850 Census as living in Hector, NY. The Census also lists a Mary Rise as living with his family at that time.
